First Model Meeting and Pool Shot

This is the first time which we had met the model which we were going  to be using for the music video , she came along to my house to get to know us a bit better , get an idea of what the video was going to be about and begin testing the way we would film pool shots.

We quickly found that there was a number of limitations which come with filming that we had not before assessed;

  • Making sure you have enough time to get everything done
  • Using a freezing cold pool in the middle of October whilst the wind is strong
  • Not giving the model proper directions on how you wanted he to act
  • Not planning what was going to be filmed in advance to the filming sessions - wasting a large amount of time

However despite these limitations and ending up with minimal footage , this filming session was a learning curve for  use to be able to ensure future sessions with the model run a lot more smoothly.

We found ourselves experimenting quite a lot in this session as we had never tried the gel overlays before and thought that they would be appropriate for the style of our video to make it look more plastic and fake. We used blue , which did not have much of a colour change to the shot but just made it brighter. We also used red which worked well and would it tin with our colour scheme however made the shot look quite dark. This could be fixed by shooting on a brighter day when natural light was stronger however approaching the end of the year it is very unlikely that this will happen any time soon.
