The location for these shots was a converted summer house which has a number of rooms in, allowing us to film a range of our planned shots for the video in one place. This location was perfect for our video as it realisticly looks like the sort of place the people shown in our video would be spending time with friends.
All of the videos which can be seen below are long and will not be used entirely in the video. By filming longer amounts like we have we are able to pick out the good bits and use them as shorts cuts which all of our scenes throughout are. They are also, quite obvious, not scripted or too far set up allowing the models to act natural and therefore get us the most realistic shots as after all these are the type of people we are wishing to portray in the video.
Bar Scenes
2/3 of us had never seen this location before however were pleasantly surprised when we arrived as it was set up so perfectly for the shots we were going to be filming. The bar being in the corner of the room meant we could light it easier and more effectively; in addition the mirror helped to make the scene brighter , fitting with our platicy feel.
The mise on scene which was already there, for instance the grafiti on the walls and bottle holders were perfect for our video, giving it a young feel. we altered some smaller aspects for example the red cups and bottles to ensure it was all fitting with our colour scene.
Filmed in small room next to the bar, these scenes were much more difficult to light due to limited lighting in the room and not a lot of room for our lamps meaning we could only just squeeze them through the door way. Again we choose to use the exercise equipment as it was something that we picked up on in our research and thought it had such an edgy feel as they would not be using in the correct way, again showing rebellion. The point that these people are not serious about the exercise is obvious due to the clothing, full faces of make up and sunglasses; they are just having fun.
An unplanned scene which we filmed in this location was this one, using the set up of a long sofa in front of a white wall to our advantage. This was a very natural scene and just shows the models singing along to the song and enjoying each other company. It is also a way which we can show the models spending time in the same location through showing them with the same clothing on in a similar environment. We put the disco lights on in the background which gave it more of a party vibe which this location would be perfect for.
After carrying out extensive title research before beginning filming we found that these did not always have to be at the beginning of the video and therefore was looking for opportunity throughout to emphasize the clear message of 'we are who we are' which is also a repetitive lyric throughout. This sequence will also be a good way of connecting all of the characters together as friends therefore not leaving the viewers confused to who random people are if they are not directly with Frances in a scene.
